CSA Info:

Peacock Family Farm is pleased to announce that we are now offering subscriptions to our Community Supported Agriculture program, or CSA.

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is an alliance between the local farmers/producers and the consumers. By joining a CSA, you express your support for locally grown food and to the farmers who grow it. When you join, your membership fee covers our production costs of planting and harvesting. In exchange for your membership fee, you will receive a weekly share of the freshest available produce grown on the Peacock Family Farm.

How Does The CSA Work?

Depending on what we are harvesting, we will choose a delicious selection of vegetables for you each week. The dollar value of each week’s share will vary; however, over the course of the season you will receive an abundance of fruits and vegetables at an affordable cost. The variety of produce and bounty depend on the season. At the beginning of the year, quantities tend to be smaller, with a focus on salad and greens. Toward the middle of the season, the variety and quantity is at its greatest. By the end of the season, the range of vegetables will naturally be decreased. For many members, it is a completely new experience to follow the growing season so closely.  To help you maximize the benefits of the selections, we will try to include recipe ideas for each week’s harvest, especially the less-common varieties.

CSA Membership Information

Buoyed by the popularity of last year’s CSA, we are once again offering a CSA with a limited number of memberships on a first-come, first-served basis.

The CSA membership cost for 2015 is $200 plus tax (total = $213.50) and will provide you ten (10) weekly shares. Payment is due in full before March 15th. Payment can be made in cash or by check.

Pickup Information

Once the harvest begins, the pickup time and location will be at our on-farm market stand on Saturdays from 9am-1pm. (See the map on page 2 for our address) If you are unable to pick up your share during these times, we cannot guarantee freshness. Please contact as soon as possible to make alternate arrangements for pick up. To allow for vacation, illness, etc., we will allow you to skip one (1) week’s pickup as long as you give us at least one week’s prior notice. We cannot be responsible for missed pickups and there will be no refunds.

While we are not certified organic, we do use natural, healthy, sustainable farming practices in order to provide you with the freshest variety of naturally-grown produce available.

Additionally, in an effort to support other local artisans and producers who share our values and philosophy we will periodically include their products as well. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we enjoy sharing them!
